Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive to Paro

Fly by Druk Air and upon arrival at Paro Airport, received by representative of Bhutan’s agent, transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Paro.

Day 2: Paro to Thimpu

After breakfast, drive to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1644. Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, One of Bhutan’s Oldest and most sacred Monastery dating from the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan in 8th Century. Then visit Rimpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) built in 1646. After lunch visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watch tower, which has been since 1967, hte national museum of Bhutan. In the evening, two hours drive to Thimpu, check in hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Thimpu.

Day 3: Thimpu Sightseeing

After breakfast sight seeing in Thimpu. It includes: Visit to TashiChho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion) built in 1641 by Shabdung Ngawang Namgyal and reconstructed in 1961 by the Late King, His Majesty King Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk, who is regarded as the Father of Modern Bhutan. Then visit the National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist Manuscripts followed by the painting school showing famous carvings and free hand arts. After Lunch visit the National Memorial Chhorten, a monument dedicated to the third king of Bhutan, His Late Majesty King Jigme Dorjee Wangchk. Then visit Handicrafts Emporium to see the exquisite artistry of traditional crafts and textiles. Evening free for shopping and leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Thimpu.

Day 4: Thimpu to Phunakha

After breakfast drive to Punakha across the Dochula Pass alt 10,000 ft. site of one of Bhutan’s most enchanting view. While in Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1637, the sacred Dzong has played a prominent part in the country’s life in both civil and religious fields. Punakha Dzong is opended to the visitors only in the summer when the Monk Body has moved Thimpu. After Lunch Visit Khamsung Yulley Namgyal Choling Monastery and Wangdiphodrang Dzong. In the evening return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight in the Hotel in Punakha.

Day 5: Phunakha to Gyantey

After breakfast drive to a beautiful valley of Gyantey. Enroute, visit Chimed Lhakhang. Packed lunch would be seved in Gyantey. On arrival, visit Gyantey Gompa and explore the Phobjikha valley, said to be the most beautiful valleys in the Himalayas. Overnight in the Gyantey Guest House.

Day 6: Gyantey to Thimpu

After breakfast drive to Thimpu. After Lunch visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fort of Bhutan built in 1627, and Folk Heritage Museum. In the evening drive to Paro.

Day 7: Paro Airport

Early morning drive to Paro International Aiport and connect your flight to onward destination. Farewell.
